Our event is non political and meant as a fun experience for all those that love or remember the 40's era. All are welcome, British, American, German, Free French, Czech and Polish and any other allied or axis group nationality either civilian or military. However, to avoid offense to anyone attending the event or living locally we do not permit any SS or Nazi military regiments or groups. Our central venue is the appropriately named Morecambe War Memorial Hall which is situated opposite the Parish Church, on Church Street, near to the centre of old Poulton. Designed by W. Gilbert Scott, of London, and funded by public subscription, it was opened in 1926, by Lord Richard Cavendish, as a memorial to the people of the town who gave their lives in The Great War. Since its foundation it has been in the care of a Board of Trustees which is charged with ensuring that it is available for social, cultural and educational use for all members of the community. A management committee looks after the day to day operation and upkeep of the building. Artists appearing at the Memorial Hall are Harri Deane and Rachel Mercer on both Saturday and Sunday. 1940s DJ with free dance lessons from local dance teacher Liz Rogers also on both days The Main Hall Throughout the weekend we will be holding events in the large hall including the 1940's Saturday Night Swing Dance.
